Role: Chief Technology Officer
Type of role: Full time
Level of role: Senior
Salary and Shares: To be negotiated.
Bolster is looking for an experienced full stack developer to join our team as CTO.
The successful candidate will be able to immediately take on leadership of the platform build, spanning both front and back end, and work hand-in-glove with the company’s co-founders, Ben and Will. This is a terrific opportunity to join an early stage, high growth start-up with the ambition to become a global force for good, at the ground level.
We are specifically looking for someone who can:
Lead on prototyping and full product development of a new online community for people supporting someone through mental illness.
Establish engineering processes, identify core technologies, and design a scalable technical architecture to ensure smooth and rapid growth.
Build a cross-functional development team, with the autonomy to rapidly iterate, release and test new features to best meet users’ needs.
This role may be for you if:
You want to join a seriously ambitious, credible and socially-motivated founding team, backed by one of London’s most exciting accelerators.
You care passionately about using technology to produce scalable solutions to engrained social problems like mental ill-health.
You are committed to joining a start-up in its infancy and growing it from prototype to product quickly and purposefully.
At Bolster, we know first hand how hard it is to support a loved one through the turbulence of mental ill-health. Friends and family are usually the first to notice something is wrong, desperate to help and crucial to recovery, but often receive little or no support to best care for their loved one.
That’s why we are building the world’s first online community for people supporting a loved one experiencing mental ill-health; to empower friends and family and provide them with the practical guidance and emotional reassurance that can only come from others with the same lived experiences.
Bolster was founded by Ben Grace, who previously took the men’s skincare brand, Bulldog, from start-up to global player and exit in 2016, and Will Tanner, who previously advised the UK Prime Minister in 10 Downing Street and helped design the Government’s mental health strategy.
